Walnut Sample

This is a deciduous tree characterised by large compound leaves. The walnut tree family are found in northern temperate zones and for this reason are suited to Ireland. This tree is more widely known for it's fruit (nuts) and hence is of strong commercial importance. The lumber is also valuable being hard and durable and used for furniture, interior panelling and gunstocks, it also turns very well.
