Laburnum is a small tree with decorative dark green leaves and sprays of bright yellow flowers. It is native to Europe where it is a widely grown ornamental tree. The leaves and seeds look like berries and children especially, should be warned against eating them. The laburnum is often called the bean tree.

When turned this durable and hard wood takes a high polish and has a rich, dark hue.
