This is a wood, which has very strong linkages to Irish traditions. Ash is used in the production of hurleys which are used to play the Irish sport of hurling. The "clash of the ash" can often be heard when 2 hurleys meet. This tree is known to many as the umbrella tree and is found in abundance in Ireland is used in the workshop for bowls and lamps mainly.
